Community Engagement Committee of Saraswathi College of Arts and Science organised Palliative Care Awareness program in association with Vilappil Gramapanchayath on 20/01/2025 at College auditorium. The program educated students and faculties about the importance of palliative care. The program aimed to raise awareness about the benefits of palliative care including pain and symptom relief, spiritual and psychosocial support and the involvement of family and community resources.
The program started with a silent prayer followed by welcome address delivered by Dr.Suma.P, Principal SCAS. The program was inaugurated in the presence of Mrs.Florance Sarojam, Health Education Standing Committee Chairperson, Vilappil Gramspanchayath. Felicitation by ward member Shri.V.V.Girish Kumar. The resource person for the program was Dr.Smitha.S.Sivan, Ayurvedic Medical Officer, Ayush Ayurveda NHMPHC Vilappil.
