Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre (IEDC)
The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre (IEDC) is a flagship initiative of the Kerala Startup Mission, designed to promote a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship within educational institutions across Kerala. As an overarching program, the IEDC aims to be a transformative force in fostering innovation within academic settings.
The objectives of the IEDC are:
To foster an innovation-driven entrepreneurial mindset among students.
To support the development of commercially viable products and solutions created by students.
To nurture entrepreneurial skills among aspiring tech-entrepreneurs, contributing to job creation and economic growth.
To strengthen collaboration between industry and academia.
To provide financial support and resources to emerging entrepreneurs, embedding an entrepreneurial spirit within academic communities.
Established in 2024, the SCAS IEDC has quickly become a robust platform for students to enhance their soft and technical skills, develop innovative ideas, and gain exposure to entrepreneurship. Monthly programs are organized to promote student start-ups, patent development, and entrepreneurial ventures, with IEDC providing funding for quality projects to help students turn ideas into prototypes. A dedicated executive committee oversees event planning and execution. Currently, the IEDC at SCAS boasts over 100 active student members, each contributing to and benefiting from this dynamic ecosystem.

IEDC INAUGURATION
Saraswathi College of Arts and Science successfully inaugurated the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) and Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre (IEDC) on 13th January 2026 at 10:00 AM. The programme marked a significant milestone in the institution’s commitment to fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and industry-oriented learning among students.
The event was graced by the presence of the Special Guest Mr.Ranjith Vijayan Founding Partner of Inscapre Labs and AI Evangelist, who delivered an insightful address highlighting the importance of innovation, startups, and emerging technologies in today’s competitive global environment. The session inspired students to think creatively, develop problem-solving skills, and explore entrepreneurial opportunities.
The inauguration of IIC & IEDC aims to provide a platform for students to engage in innovation-driven activities, startups, research initiatives, and industry collaboration, thereby nurturing future innovators and entrepreneurs.
