World Environment Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm on June 5th to raise awareness about environmental protection and promote sustainable practices. The theme for this year’s celebration was “Beat Plastic Pollution.”
The event began at 10:00 AM with a Poster Making Competition, followed by the official ceremony at 12:00 PM, which commenced with seeking the blessings of the Almighty. The program was anchored by Abhirami V of S4 B.Com Finance, and the welcome address was delivered by Abhirami R S of S4 B.Sc Psychology.
An introductory address was given by our Academic Director, Prof. N. Jayakumar Sir, followed by the inaugural address by our Chief Guest, C. V. Jayadas Sir. Students from the Department of Psychology performed a mime on the theme “Save Environment.”
This was followed by a felicitation by our Principal, Dr. Suma Ma’am, and certificate distribution for the Poster Making Competition.
At 2:00 PM, our College Butterfly Garden was officially reopened by Jayadas Sir and Jayakumar Sir by planting Orange and Indian Coffee Plum plants.
Overall, the Environment Day celebration served as a powerful reminder of our responsibility to safeguard the planet for future generations.
